1. How do I become a registered member?

To become a registered member, you must sign up for the QA101 course. This will give you a set of Login credentials, which will give you access to your own Student Dashboard. Once you are a registered member of the QA101 course, you will have access to all the information on the qa101online.com website. For  more information about becoming a QA101 student, you can contact Bryan Rowlands at bryan@qa101online.com   

2. How can I complete my Homework online?

You can DOWNLOAD the homework document, complete it on your computer, and UPLOAD it directly through your Dashboard. Follow these steps to upload your homework: 1. Click Homework tab 2. Click Download. The document will automatically download to your /download/ folder. When you completed your homework 3. On the Homework tab, click Upload. This will take you to your Student Dashboard. 4. Upload the document from your computer, and click Send. 3. If I register for the QA101 course, am I guaranteed to have a job offer? No. QA101 does not assume the responsibility to provide you with a job offer. However, you will be able to become  a part of a large professional network, where you are likely to find more career opportunities in this industry. You will also be trained for the interview process, so that you are fully prepared to find the job of your dreams by the time you graduate the QA101 school.  

3. How and why did you start Teaching?

it all started years ago when I taught my wife how to become software test engineer. I love my wife, and God Bless her, she was totally computer illiterate. I mean, she didn’t even know how to check her email… well you know what? I taught her the BASICS, exactly what she needs to know, and she went out and got started right away.  But don’t think it was so easy for her she had to work hard and I can tell you she was very scared at first but she never gave up and continued to learn and with the right motivation she started to believe that she could actually become a Tester. And now… she is a Test Resource Manager and Test Lead at one of the largest software/ mobile companies in the world. Know what happened after that? A few of her friends started asking her question and where curious how she got started and she told them to come and talk to me, their attitude was that if  “Well if she can do it, can I do it too?” And so I started teaching them. And in time they started landing their first software testing  jobs. Keep in mind they were working at safeway, stay at home mom, etc, and not in the IT industry at all. And then I started teaching the class to the public – just by word of mouth it has been spreading like crazy, and we’ve had MANY MANY more people who have the same story as my wife now and her friends. I know it will work for you because it has worked for so many people already.

 4. What does it take to become a good software test engineer?

it is all about attitude and willing to take that challenge and to push yourself to the limits, one of the biggest lies i tell everyone and yes a lie, that this is easy but in a sense it is very easy but the caveat is there is plenty to learn and to succeed as a newbie you must start to memorize and listen and follow instructions on what works and what doesn’t work. but the biggest challenge is to have you look in the mirror and start to believe in yourself. I know i do . this is a job like no other job or industry. you will never regret taking this challenge.
